Lots of Great Schools in this Historic City:
Of all the historic cities in Europe, Dublin may be the one that’s most closely in touch with its own history. The city was founded by Viking invaders as a trading post (the Vikings understood the important of controlling ports and trade). The city has undergone quite a few modernizations over the past ten years. The city has Google and Yahoo offices, which has led to some truly astounding modern architecture.
1. Trinity College:
One of the oldest universities in Europe is surrounded on all sides by a modern city. But once you step inside you realize just how historic these old buildings are. But don’t let that fool you: the Microbiology Department at Trinity College is modern and world class.
2. UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory
Located at University College Dublin, the UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory is a full-on laboratory that deals with the testing of viruses. The teaching part of it comes from the Center for Research in Infectious Diseases, where you can study Viruses with experts who are currently working in the field. This is the cutting edge stuff.
