Direct immunofluorescence
A full range of serology using automated plate EIA and VIDAS analysers. CFTs are run weekly.
Molecular tests on various platforms including AB prism and smartcycler for realtime PCR (CMV, HSV, enterovirus) and the Roche ampliprep/taqman for HIV and HCV. Other molecular tests include norovirus PCR on stool samples, and bacteriological tests including Chlamydia, MRSA, and PVL toxin.
