NIBSC Molecular Working Reagents for Clinical Diagnostic Microbiology

The Health Protection Agency's National Institute for Biological Standards and Control, in collaboration with colleagues in the Clinical Virology Network, have developed working reagents for use as run controls in nucleic acid amplification based (molecular) assays for clinical diagnostic microbiology. These reagents are intended to be used as routine quality controls to monitor the performance of molecular assays, and should be extracted and amplified alongside samples. All reagents are available as CE-marked products, and are available as 1ml vials of frozen whole organism.

More information on the working reagents can be found on the NIBSC website, where you can also find links to order the products and to our large range of reference and serology reagents. If you have any queries regarding these reagents or any future developments, please e-mail the Clinical Diagnostics Molecular Working Reagents project team or call +44 (0)1707 641591.
